The Spider in My Head
A spider lives in my head. Her web, An ever growing mosaic of human consciousness That I always seem to get stuck in. She can smell my fear. Scurries over, Legs plucking the woven strings In time with my pounding heart. I'll die here. Just like I have a thousand times before- Leaving behind another fragile shell Of who I could have been. She tucks my remains Tight against her tapestry, And she keeps weaving.
