The Space between Us
You disappeared like thin air, Leaving a void I can hardly bear, Still aching for the moments we might’ve shared. It feels like you walked by without a glimpse in your eyes, Your face reminiscent of someone from my past— I just hope you’re not the one I left behind at last. The faster you move, the stronger your presence grows, Just 15-20 steps away, yet it feels like an endless road. Lost in a world of trails, I hardly hear the pings of emails, We met accidentally, yet drifted away so gently. I advanced too soon, reaching for the moon, Alas, it wasn’t the time for the flower to bloom. I longed to learn something, but timing slipped away, Let’s see if the door opens again— I’ll surely ask for permission to stay. The tides change with time; I hope everything aligns, Until we find a clear line in between, It’s been long enough, and now enough is enough. The coming day will weave our story, And by day’s end, we’ll get the summary. Until then, let’s leave in merriment, Embracing the moments, however fleeting they may seem.
