The Solitary Reaper
In the picturesque Bodoland valley, Where the mountains touch the sky, There lived a solitary reaper, Whose sweet voice would make you cry. Her hair was as dark as midnight, Her eyes a deep shade of blue, And when she sang among the fields, The flowers listened too. Her voice was like a gentle breeze, That whispered through the trees, And when she sang of love and loss, The mountains seemed to freeze. Each day she'd wander through the fields, Her voice a melody, That echoed through the valleys, And reached the deepest sea. The villagers would stop and listen, As she sang her haunting tune, And in that moment, all was still, Beneath the golden moon. But though her voice was pure and sweet, There was a sadness there, A longing in her melody, That hung upon the air. She sang of love that was lost, Of dreams that could not be, And as she sang, the tears would fall, And mingle with the sea. And so she wandered through the fields, Her voice a mournful cry, A solitary reaper, Beneath the Bodoland sky. And though her songs were bittersweet, They held a beauty rare, For in her voice, the world could hear, The pain of love and care. ® Sankhang Daimary
