The Slave Of My Own Mind
We came into this world to be free, but with maturity, we find that freedom lies not in life, but within our mind. Others may say, "You're not good enough," or, "Do you know what you're doing?" But if my mind would follow my heart, their bitter words would stop their harm. If my heart lets my emotions roam free, why can't my mind let my thoughts be? Is it my fault, or do I stop myself from thinking? My heart weeps, breathing in tears in the night, but do I give my mind the same, right? Or did I just lock it away? Perhaps the key doesn't exist, or is it lost in my thoughts, a silent mist. I searched for freedom, yet now I see, I am a slave to a part of me. My heart tries to break free from my mind, but the bitter truth is all I can find. Am I the one who keeps them apart? Am I the jailer of my own mind and heart?
