The silent surrender
The ember dims, where once a fire blazed, A dream's frail wing, now tattered and dazed. Not weakness whispers, where the spirit bends, But weary echoes, where the journey ends. A thousand tries, on paths that turned to dust, A heart grown hollow, in misplaced trust. The well runs dry, where hope had overflowed, And strength concedes, beneath a heavy load. No sudden falter, but a slow decline, Where aspirations, cease to intertwine. The bonds once forged, now loosened and undone, A drained surrender, beneath a setting sun.
