Saying whatever you want without thinking is not “being real.” It’s just hurting people and calling it honesty. Some people pour out every raw feeling, In the moment, without slowing down. They call it being themselves, but it lands on others like a heavy load they didn’t ask for. There’s a difference between being honest and being careless. Between sharing truth and using truth to cut someone. Real authenticity isn’t saying everything that comes to your mind. It’s speaking your heart in a way someone else can actually receive. It’s being yourself without making your emotions someone else’s burden. A lot of us grew up thinking intensity means sincerity, so we confuse being unfiltered with being genuine. We mistake chaos for closeness. But people can’t feel safe around someone who doesn’t think about impact. You can be truthful without being harsh. You can be open without being destructive. That’s not being fake. That’s being human, and caring for the people around you.
