The Shadow of Insufficiency
The insufficiency is evident, It’s like a shadow that follows me, Visible in my gaze, in my actions, And it reveals itself in every gesture, In every word, in every silence. It’s a constant presence, That weighs on my chest, that sinks my steps. In my walk, there’s the fragility of one who carries the world, And in my speech, the hesitation of one who fears being heard. This insufficiency, this lack, Is not fleeting. It’s a part of me, that insists on being, That nests deep in my soul And, no matter how hard I try, it never goes away. Will it ever dissipate? Will hope, which has almost faded, Shine again as it once did, Or am I destined to live in the shadow of what I lack? There are days when the fatigue is unbearable, And the feeling of never being enough consumes me, But there’s something within me that resists, A faint voice, almost inaudible, That says that maybe, one day, I will find myself, That maybe, insufficiency will become just a distant past, And that, in the end, the journey will be more about learning to be whole, Than trying to be perfect
