The shadow
Dear Moon, Tell me… what is true? Because my heart can’t tell the difference anymore. Was it all a lie? Or am I just too broken to see clearly? It wasn’t supposed to end like this, you know. They were supposed to be bad, cruel, heartless— that’s what I told myself to survive. But if they were only bad, why does the truth cut into me like a knife with no mercy? Why does it hurt like I’m being torn apart from the inside? Every day feels heavier than the last. The mornings don’t feel like beginnings anymore— they’re just continuations of the same endless ache. Nights are worse, because the silence holds my thoughts like a cage, and there’s no escape from the noise in my own head. Moon, I’m so tired. I can’t fight this darkness anymore. I keep telling myself to hold on, but my fingers are slipping. And all I want— all I beg for— is for you to come and take this weight from me, just for a while. You told me once that I’m the one who should love. But how do I love when there’s no safe place left for my heart? So if you still mean those words, come here. Hide me in your arms like I’m something worth keeping. Bury me in your light until I forget what the shadows feel like. Tell me that it’s going to be okay,
