The Seven Sins
In shadows deep, where virtues fade, Seven specters dwell, in masquerade, Wrath, Envy, Pride, their forms beguile, Gluttony, Sloth, Greed and Lust, their whispers vile. Yet midst this throng, an anomaly found, Lust, the serene, in its chains, tightly wound, For 'mongst the sins, in their twisted spree, Love stands tall, the deadliest decree. Beneath its guise, a winsome art, Love wields a blade, piercing every heart, Entwined with warmth, in its tender embrace, It sows discord, duty's final trace. For over duty, the stalwart, with unwavering might, Lust reigns, veils its steering light, In its tender thrall, allegiance fades, Responsibilities, in love's cascade. Oft deemed pure, a beacon with allure bright, Love, the sin, eclipsing the right, It tempts and sways, a treacherous guise, Shattering oaths, beneath passion's rise. Among the seven, an enigma thrives, Lust, the sin, its glamour forgives, It blinds, it betrays, a seductive chore, The death of duty, forevermore.
