the Sea
The first time, our eyes meet in kind; We join, not so surprising, two fish in flowing water. Unsuspecting, and yet relenting; He thinks only how to slaughter. He shines, a siren in the sea. His voice can mesmerize, his face quite like a dream. I cannot slip away, simply his words pierce me; Though pushing, all my might, I seem to go upstream. The water drips down, clicking, reflection on the floor; From which I process soundly, there is no sea at all. The last time, our eyes meet in distance, his love a sailor’s war. I know of legend’s stories; With him will come my fall.
