The Scars That Remain
The Scars That Remain ........... If pain could write His sonnets are all over me, This clay of a body Is riddled with scars Seen and unseen Whatever you see on my skin I've endured much. His only mission Is only to cripple, His motivation Is my depression If love had a brother He'd be the black sheep Whatever do I do To escape his wrath. Even in my dreams My scars are showing, My only concern Is let my heart never turn cold Let my warmth remain Lest I'm but lost Keep his talons away from me I've endured enough already. These words are true If my heart bleeds, it bleeds truth My only fear are his devices Weapons for war he has No peace could survive His ugly stare Let his stories never be complete Not in this heart of mine. © Adiela Michael
