The Savior
A long time ago, A man was created— To control, To excuse the abused. The abuser Told the abused About this man— The one who "saved" us. But how Can the abuser Give us a saviour? The beatings ended. We broke the chains. But the saviour remained At our core And we waited For the man once again. The freedom we gained, The bruises we escaped, Were not enough. Now we tie ourselves To his rulings, Forge our own chains. "Free will." Yet hell waits For its misuse. The blood of our past The warriors, The rebels, The bold defenders— Is washed away By pages of a book That makes us forget. We have betrayed Our fighters.
