The Sand Castle
Built to stand By two great arms Adorned by glimmering shells Under the sun's fierce blaze The two amateur masons Stand gazing in awe At their magnificent masterpiece A figment of their imagination, potion of their creation Moments later Before a poem of praise is mused The envious sea swallows the castle down Wet sand, collapse The beauty washed by water The creativity melted in the sand The sad frowns painted on their faces As all the beauty, dissolved in sea water Sips, vanishes, percolates underground.
