The Sad Reality
-B...? The sad reality we learn too soon Is life is not the song we dreamed— It’s filled with echoes of the past, Where hopes unravel at the seams. We chase the light with open hands, Yet find the shadows close behind, The things we thought would always stay Are fleeting, like the passing time. The laughter fades, the colors dim, The people we once held so tight Slip through our fingers, one by one, Into the endless, silent night. And though we search for something more, A meaning in this endless race, The truth is life is often hard— A cold, indifferent, unappreciated place. There’s beauty, yes, but it’s so brief, A flicker in the vast unknown. We build, we love, we lose, we grieve, And face the darkness on our own. Yet still, we carry on the weight, The silent ache of what could be— For in the sad reality, There’s something human, something free.
