The Roller Coaster
He called me late, a whisper on the line, To tell a story, once so intertwined. Of a love that felt like a roller coaster ride, Where two hearts soared, with nowhere left to hide. They were first to each other, in so many ways, Building a world through uncertain days. He confessed to mistakes, part of being young, But always fought for the love on which he hung. Their hearts were leading, a pillar of pure trust, He gave his all, though he was turned to dust. When she broke it, a wound so deep and raw, He fixed the trust, fighting for what he saw As beautiful, a love he couldn't lose. He saw no reason for what she'd have him choose, But she walked away for friendships, so she said, Leaving him with unspoken words in his head. Now she hates him, after all that he has done, All the sacrifices he made for her, under the sun. And he's left with nothing, a heart left bruised and sore, Alone at the end of a beautiful war.
