The river
I stood before a river, and froze at what i saw A large skeletal figure its flesh and muscles tore Its eyes hollowed black its face all long and gaunt It pointed at me with its talon finger, sharp like a lions claw Then it spoke and told me in an inhaling breath stopped short You are not doing in life what you were sent here for Then the river lit up where he stood and spiraled, i was locked in awe The vibrant neon light spewing out tiny orbs As this vortex opened up and the skeletal figure vanished into the river floor Then all that remained was a stillness, a calm, his words had left a thought What is it i should be doing, what is my purpose, what am i here for Death is forever perusing, yet i waste time more and more
