the riddle
And the old man said to me "Dont be sorry, be better" To which I had no reply And the young man said "...i cannot help you, its not my place" To which I had no reply And the child remarked "I have 5 friends at school" And the old man said to me "Dont worry, all things pass" To which I had no reply And the young man bitter "You made your bed, lie in it" To which I had no reply And the Child spoke up "My mummy sends me to bed at 7:30" And the old man spoke softly "You are not your progenitors" To which i had no reply And the young man biting "The apple doesnt fall far from the tree" To which I had no reply And the child, laughing "Adults are so boring" And the old man said "Time heals all wounds, and also kills" To which i had no reply And the young man spat "Pain is for the weak" To which I had no reply And the child cried "I hurt my head on the table" And the old man's final words were "Learn to love yourself, before others" To which I had no reply And the young man, aged, held out his hand "I am sorry things havent worked out" To which i had no reply And the child Who was left Died.
