The Real Me Behind My smile
Behind my smile, there lies a soul That's filled with stories yet untold Beneath the facade, I hide my fears And all my sorrows, all my tears You see me laughing, carefree and light But inside, I'm struggling with all my might To keep it together, to keep it in So no one sees the battles within I wear this mask, day after day To blend in, to keep the pain at bay But behind the mask, I am just me A broken human, trying to be free I smile to hide the pain I feel To shield the wounds that never heal But if you look closely, you will see The real me, who longs to be free A soul that's been bruised, and scarred with pain But still, I rise and try again For behind this smile, lies a heart that's strong A fighter, who's been hurt for far too long I've learned to hide, to bury the pain But it's always there, like a constant rain And though I may seem happy and carefree The real me, is longing to be seen So don't be fooled by my smiling face There's more to me, than just grace Behind my smile, lies a story Of strength, resilience, and untold glory I may not show it, but I am strong Defying all odds, all along And even though I may sometimes break I will rise again, for my own sake
