The Rain
As raindrops cascade down the windowpane, A symphony of nature's grand campaign, Others gather, hearts ablaze, In warmth and love, their spirits in a daze. But I stand here, solitary and still, My heart a void, my thoughts a frigid chill, The rain, a mirror to my very core, Reflecting back the emptiness I store. Oh, how I envy those who share, The solace of a love beyond compare, To feel the warmth of someone near, To banish shadows and quell all fear. Yet, in this solitude I find, A strange serenity, a peace of mind, The rain, a gentle, empathetic friend, In its embrace, my sorrows mend. For in the depths of my despair, The rain speaks to me, with utmost care, Whispering secrets, soft and low, Of hope and strength, that I may grow. So let the raindrops fall like tears, Washing away the lingering fears, For in this lonely, somber day, The rain will guide me, come what may.
