The Race that Fades
I ran for years, chasing dreams, Through sleepless nights and silent screams. Fighting to prove, to rise, to win, Lost in a world that pulled me in. They ran too, beside, ahead, Some soared high, some hung by a thread. We measured life in checks and gold, In titles earned and stories told. Until one day, the rush stood still, The echoes faded, lost their thrill. I saw them run, I saw me too, And wondered- was there more to do? They do them, and I do me, No scoreboard left for me to see. I still run, I still dream, But only for myself. Not to compare, not to chase, But to find peace In the path I call my own race. At night, I crave not wars to fight, Just quiet talks and softer light. A breath of peace, a space to be, Not ahead, not behind- just free.
