The Purse
I stair at the purse placed on the shelf in the baby isle. As if one was traded for the other and for a moment all I could see was all that my mom gave up for me, and my father. and all that every other mother and wife and woman gives up, because one is more important than the other. Something Everything will always be more important than ourselves Never do we allow ourselves to have both Its too selfish, too much money, not worth the cost to appease ourselves for once instead of providing the necessities for everyone else Because Lord knows no one else is going to find the time to go to the store for diapers, or our own fever medicine, or the item forgotten while grocery shopping Because Lord knows everyone else is too busy, too tired, to do it themselves. And God forbid you come home and had wasted π£π°π΅π© your paychecks on something for yourself Because we "both know who truly makes the most money in this house" and it's not her. And it never will be her. Because never will any of her life be dedicated to herself. So she puts back the purse and leaves with formula.
