The Present Tense

I love you even now here in the present tense Though you only exist in the past my love will eternally exist in the present Though all I have left of you is a memory the echo of a laugh the recollection of a smile the whisper of who you were Still, I will love you constantly loyally hopefully endlessly across all time and throughout eternity My love did not end when you left I feel it here in the present tense Your life was like a pebble thrown into the vast ocean of time Too short seemingly insignificant but creating waves that rush in every direction Creating an impact that spans across all time and tenses An impact we will never know the full extent of You touched hearts You touched lives so many people so many grieving so many memories so many tears not enough of those precious years but still just enough for your impact to exist in those of us that knew you in those of us that love you in those of us that grieve for you Your impact did not leave when you left it persists here in the present tense
