The place I call home
Alone with my thoughts, stuck in this black pit, waiting for a light that never hits. I’m asleep but still awake, living a lie, about to break. A tear falls from my eye, rolling down to the smile I fake. I ask myself, what’s left? Watching my strength slip away, bereft. I’m a loser, a nobody, a disappointment, a disgrace. This is the truth I fear to face. Funny how laughter can drown, how smiles can twist to frown. In this empty void where I roam, I whisper to myself, “This is your home.”
