The path to the stars
The shadows deepen as the day slips away, A young woman rests from the toil of the day. The stars press close through the curtains drawn tight, And her heart lifts gently in the quiet night. Her dreams unfold like a winding trail, Through woods where whispers soften the gale. The road she walks is hers alone, A path unmarked by stick or stone. Her burdens fall like leaves to the ground, And in their place, starlight is found. The ceiling above, once empty and bare, Now glimmers with visions hung in the air. Colors scatter like frost in the dawn, And constellations dance till the night is gone. Each light a question, each spark a reply- In this world she builds, her spirit flies high. The sun creeps in and wakes her at last; Her dreams retreat but linger fast. Two roads appeared where her mind had roamed- She chose the one that felt like home. Someday she’ll tell it with a quiet sigh: Two worlds there were-one low, one high. She took to the stars when others stayed near, And that has made her path so clear.
