The Patchwork Of My Heart
My heart's a quilt of many patches, Burst a seam from so many laughter, Find new material to hide life's disasters. Each patch a memory, a moment in time, Stitched together with love, a life's design. A bright panorama of scraps of my life, Moments of glory, moments of strife. But laughter and joy can't hold it together, Sometimes life's disasters are too much to weather. So I search for new material to hide the tears, To cover the holes and calm the fears. The quilt grows with each passing day, New patches added along the way. Each one a reminder of life's and flow, Of the highs and lows that come and go. And though the seams may burst apart, The quilt of my heart will never depart. For it's a legacy of stitches that I leave behind, An imprint of my soul that lasts beyond my time.
