The Open Veil
Under the moon’s glow, Time retreats and rivers slow, A quiet soul takes hold of air, A weight that lingers everywhere. The breath of life, shines bright, But fades softly into the night. Not harsh, not cruel, but kind of sweet, A doorway where two worlds will meet. The heart resists, it beats, it cries, For love to stay, though flesh must die, Is it the end, or a brand new start? A dream from every heart? The veil may drop, but who can say, If death’s a thief or a new day? Death might call, but cannot sever, The ties of our hearts that lives on forever.
