the only escape
I'm caught in this never-ending cycle, trying to escape my reality. But as the highs wear off, I'm left with the harsh truth that my problems are still here. I think about all the things I could've done differently, the mistakes I've made, and the opportunities I've missed. But in the moment, all I can think about is the temporary relief these substances provide. My lungs may be burning, and my mind may be cloudy, but at least for a little while, I don't have to face my struggles. I can numb the pain and forget about everything else. But deep down, I know this isn't the answer. I can't keep relying on these vices to get me through life. I need to face my problems head-on and find healthier ways to cope. But for now, I'll continue to smoke away the pain because it's all I know. It's my escape, my coping mechanism. But I know that one day, I'll have to face reality and find a way to truly heal.
