THE ONE WHO STAYED
Everyone left when the music stopped, but You stayed for the echo, Whispering tunes of my forgotten song, Feeding the dead traces of my existence, To everyone my song was just a phase, but to You it was special. When the applause faded, so did their footsteps, But You chose to stay, when no one dared, They called it weakness but to You, it was worship, My tunes were buried, even by the ones close. Now, I no longer sing to the crowd, I sing to the heavens, Believing my lyrics are understood by the angels, Echoing through the clouds, into His ears. I no longer sing to impress, I sing to confess, Each lyric a flame at the altar of grace, Each line a praise to the most high, The One who stayed when the world left, Every tune ,a desperate cry to the Eternal listener, I don't sing with a smile, I sing with a cry, For He keeps track of my sorrows, Storing every tear in His bottle, Waiting for the right time to show His grace, I no longer sing with sound, I sing in silence, Only he can hear the cracks in my soul, And still, He stays, Not to enjoy, but to heal, When the music stopped, He stayed... Turning my silence into a sacred song.
