The numbness of isolation
The lockdown felt like a brief dream Those days changed me, left me numb and invisible I became a machine, without feelings, a heart of ice Forgot to smile, think, or live, lost in a strange world Nights and days passed without telling , staring at a small screen My eyes burned red, like low battery The sun rose and set, a blurry light, outside my window I lost track of time, trapped in darkness, without a care My inner world shut down, like the outside My mind was foggy, feelings frozen, empty space I forgot to count days, forgot how to speak Forgot to live, forgot to be, lost in a world of pain The lockdown turned into me a robot , ashamed to exist A shadow of me , forced to survive The world outside moved on, while I stayed locked in A prisoner of my own mind, lost and left behind
