The Neighbours Cat
My neighbour owns a grey tabby cat. it sits on the windowsill as I come home from school, watching me from afar. its eyes are eager and curious, studying my every move. I look back the same, longing to touch its comforting fur. yet everytime I go to visit, it runs away. the closer I get to its soft little head, the more the hairs on its body stand. it moves further away the more excited I get, refusing to let me hold its plush body. everyday I come with treats and toys, catnip mice and fresh tuna and everyday it turns its head, searching for another hiding spot. I want to love the cat, kiss his face cradle his spine in the curve of my arm. but I'm starting to think. maybe he doesn't like me.
