THE NATION'S CRY
Nigeria,a nation blessed with wealth and might, Yet tears fall, day and endless night. Citizens denied of their fundamental rights, Longing for justice,a beacon of light. The economy,a constant strife, Of hunger, poverty and future denied. The streets,a battleground of pain, Where fear and uncertainty reign. Everyone conceals their deepest pain, Behind masked smiles and pretended gain. "I'm fine,i'm fine," we say through bitter tears. Longing for relief, solace, strength and peace. My heart bleeds,of hopes betrayed, Of voices silenced, and dreams delayed. "Oh,Nigeria,my heart's cry!" An earthly hell where hopes do break. Will Nigeria be better again? I ask myself and wonder when.
