The Moon is Beautiful Today
The moon is beautiful today Why don’t you come out and see it Over the clear, dark sky Under the invisible star Lies only the lonely moon, you know? So why don’t you come out and say hi? Don’t you think that it fits A lonely moon, a lonely you Round, big, pale white and oh so, so very bright I think you could be a good friend So why don’t you become a little star for her? I’m only but a passing cloud… So please don’t look at me like that Smile to the moon instead She might not be smiling right now But, you know, You can be that clear skies, days after days Carve that smile out from her, Surely you’ll only need seven or so days So, please… Come out of your hiding And stop looking at me like that I’m smiling right now, am I not? And I’m only her messenger after all So, please… Take my hand, won’t you? And if it’s too hard for you alone, We can become the dancing binary stars beside her We will carve her the best smile she could give And surely… Seven days will never be enough for us
