The Lying Heart
Once my heart hummed a sweet melody, Under the sun, under the stars. I thought love was strong, it's True, It's only Me and You I had give you everything, my hand and my dreams, A future we built down the open road. I believe everything you said, every whisper, And every day I loved you more... And then shadows came and sudden dread, The unsaid words and unshed tears, A whisper here, a glance away... Somewhere we left the path we were on. Another touch, another kiss, You took everything good in our life, and pulled it away. My loving eyes could see what you stole, The double life that you had. My world feels broken, as fragile as glass, This pain is understandably difficult to move through, The sweetness of love turned to dust, Because you shattered my trust. My heavy heart and broken mind, Lost the love that created me. The memory of your untruth, Is with me deep into today.
