The Love that got away
I uses to write you a poem or two Beautiful black child There were sunsets I wanted to share with you And nights we planned to occupy a roof Under the gaze of distant stars and moons Sometimes I wonder if you had a clue Of how much my heart would pound red juice Into the corridors of my veins for you And if you thought that love was true To me your aura was ethereal And that was the issue I Loved you too much cause there was a dove in your look So you bloomed wings and flew I don't cry though cause I've found strength in your absence And my heart can smile Cause in me I have a piece of you I've found peace from you
