The look
When I look in the mirror, I want to see a survivor. I say those words a lot. I can say it; I wait to feel it. Then my heart tells my mind. But my mind says I remember. My heart, I remember the pain. But my mind is playing over and over. I try to breathe. I feel the same way I felt when I told Myself. Just close my eyes and take a deep breath. I was seeing myself in the mirror—fear of what I don't see.
