What would it take To become an immortal To bring the immortals Back from their graves To overcome death  In all its tortures and horrors To outwit time And all its tricks and miseries To be face to face with god While heaven is empty To laugh at the devil While he begs for mercy To sustain oneself On the word of God alone While heaven and earth pass away To be truly alone In the vastness of spacetime Absolutely nothing and no one around As far as the eye can see I do not want to know The loneliness of god
