The light of darkness
Darkness; something people see as dark, careless, ruthless, empty. Some see it as an escape, something that they can use to cope. I see it as a light, a quiet shimmer in your life that you can't let go, even if you want to. Something that latched onto you at hard times. Maybe it could even be a someone, someone you lost feelings for but you can't let go, someone as toxic as unpurified air that hits you as soon as you enter a room. Or maybe it's a demon, trying to belittle you into making you think your bad, ugly, nasty, rude. Maybe it's an item, something you can't let go but you know you should. But whatever it is, you know it's toxic, but you can't let it go, not even when you die, not even when you feel numb, not even when you move on. It's still there, and it will never stop being there.
