the letter I'll never send
I love you, Mr Victor. I know I’ll never be able to tell you. The girl in me wants to say so much But the woman in me would never want to stoop, Because she carries grace. She doesn’t beg. I want to tell you how cute you looked That day in the keke beside me, Not paying attention Just being you. You looked dashing. You were amusing, Troublesome with strangers, And still, somehow, tender to me. I want to tell you how it felt To look into your eyes when you hugged me before I left. How I didn’t even like you at first when we met. But that early morning drive, Our first outing together — I watched you talk, And I saw a man I wanted to know. Your side smile bloomed something in my tummy. Oh, Stormie… There’s so much I want to say. But I won’t. I can’t. I know you warned me, But I didn’t know when. Still, I fell Softly, Slowly, Beautifully. I love you, Victor. And I’ll carry it quietly, Like a psalm I never sing out loud.
