The Ledge
August 6th, 1993 I stood atop a ledge above an abysmal alley the cold air pushing on my back my mind going over what I lack 1:37 AM is the time i see two men, one old, one young their words i cannot hear, like a mime the youth seems agitated, reaches into his pocket he reveals a gun, fear in the elders eye socket a shot was fired, this I heard then a second and the third i felt no heroism, I couldn't find a thing to say an act of voyeurism, I couldn't look away the old man fell, head to the north I heard the finale, he shot the fourth The thought of jumping taken from my dome i stepped from the ledge, and went home
