The last chapter
I am writing this not because I need you to hear me, but because I need to stop carrying your silence. For a long time, I walked through the wreckage of what you did, trying to find the "why." I looked for it in the memories, in the lies, and in my own reflection. But I’ve realized that the "why" doesn't matter as much as the "is." The truth is that you were willing to trade my peace for your secrets. The truth is that while I was building a future, you were dismantling our foundation. I’m letting go of the version of you I thought I knew. That person was a ghost, a character in a story I was co-authoring with a stranger. I am also letting go of the version of me that felt responsible for your choices. Your betrayal was a reflection of your character, not a measurement of my worth. I am taking back my trust, not to give it away blindly again, but to hold it for myself. I am taking back my time. I am taking back my "After." I don't wish you ill, but I no longer wish you near. You are a lesson I have finally finished learning
