The lady
At night, I worry - what if something happens? I spend my school nights in constant fear, Watching over the lady, protecting her from herself, No one notices the effort I put in. I'm scared when the lady is quiet, has she done it? Will the paramedics come, again, tonight? I lose hope every time, they do nothing. Invisible and unheard, no one sees my pain. My grades fall behind, I am tired and worn But no one seems to care, or even take note. Would they even notice if I were gone? I'm the quiet kid, invisible and uncared for. One day, I had enough, I wanted the lady to get help So I reported her, hoping to be heard But no one listened, she and everyone else were upset with me. Still, no one hears my cries for help, it's all so painful. I just want my mom back, the person who I loved. I want the pain to be gone, but no one listens to my plea, I keep on trying, hoping for someone to hear And maybe, just maybe, they will finally see. But for now, I'm just the quiet kid. May 3rd 2023
