THE JOURNEY OF LIZEKA KABENI
We may not have family support, But we're driving toward our destinations. With backgrounds behind us, We live in the present, undaunted. Though we hear negativity hurled, We stand firm, determined to be bold. For our lives are different, Reflecting our own stories. So, I, I'll reach for the stars, And achieve my dreams, As I journey to be who I am. And as I climb the ladder of success, I'll not forget my humble beginnings. I'll wear my scars as a badge of honor, Reminding me of my strength within. So, as I stand upon the mountaintop, Looking back at the path I've trod, I'll be reminded of my strength and grit, That brought me here, with fire and blood. And in the face of all the odds, I'll smile, And in my path, I blaze a trail, To show that dreams can soar, If only one will dare to dream, And persevere, like I, Lizeka Kabeni.
