The Jewel Within
A heart that opens Is a heart that knows no end. Solidify me in this new temptation, Arterial overflow in one direction— In every rainbow, There’s discoloration of darkness. Upcoming November rains, Washing and scrubbing the cumulative taint Of each and every inhalation. Life comes short to those Who abandon the inner jewel— But life is fastened To those who wear the crown. If I close my eyes in that last breath, I will think of you one last time— Not in worship or a lowly bow, But as a friend, As a companion That stood with time In the most precious days.
