The Irony of You
The Irony of You by Jack A. S. Dunce It's only in my dreams, I see My flowers bloom in those bright eyes, As though heaven opened for me, I felt so happy I could die. Before me stood my very dream -- Determined eyes on homely face, Ordinary looks, most may deem. Why then do you make my heart race? Your giggle really annoys me; It's nothing but a high pitched snort, Akin to that of a banshee, Yet became my ballad of sorts. The years came and went like a blur With every detail fused as one -- Nothing stands out, all things unsure, But your smug smile shone like the sun. I've fallen for this trap before -- the strong and independent type. My mind is shouting out: No more! And yet, my heart says: one more swipe. --🏵️-- ©️pgmr 01/09/2025 *To my erstwhile young senpai. I hope this never reach you. 😁
