THE INNER STRUGGLE
Torn Between Brain and Heart My brain says leave, it's time to go But my heart beats strong, with love that glows It's hard to choose, between what's right And the love I feel, that shines so bright My brain warns me, of the pain and strife But my heart remembers, the love and the life We shared our laughter, our tears and our fears And with every memory, my heart holds back its tears I stood by him, through every up and down My love was pure, never a joke or a frown But now I'm alone, with just my thoughts to bear Wondering what's next, and if love will ever be there My brain and heart, they wrestle every night One says let go, the other says hold on tight I'm torn between, what's logical and what's true My heart beats for love, but my brain says it's through So I stand and wonder, at this crossroads I stand Torn between my brain, and my loving heart's hand Only time will tell, which path I will choose But for now, I'm stuck, in this heart-wrenching blues.
