The Inner Man
They laughed when I spoke in whispers, So much that it filled the air. Mocked me when I took the path, Saying there was no road there. They said I was too calm and too gentle, Like the oceans with nothing underneath, They spoke as if I was just a empty seat, Everytime we had to meet. They called me boring, In places where voices only made noise. They often measured value on how loud each voice was, But for me, it was a whole lot of chaos. They often made me feel sad, Sometimes made me look bad, But I decided not to get mad, But remain gentle and calm. They didn't see the depth in my silence, But assumed I was just being senseless, But time came and they realized they were wrong, Cause I became far better than when I was Young. "He has finally become the man he always wanted to be", They whispered. I just laughed cause I knew time already did the job.
