The Icecream That can Last For
Roaming around in the streets, A mother with an umbrella, her kid beneath — holding some treats. In the hot summer, out on an ice cream hunt, The kid murmurs something — mom says, "Say it blunt." The little guy asks her to buy him an ice cream that could last forever. Looking at his innocence, she hesitates to say "No" or "Never." So she decides to teach him a small reality lesson, But the poor kid’s too exhausted — not ready for any learning session. Suddenly, his tired eyes glow with passion, As he sees the ice cream shop open in broad daylight. He runs to the shop and gives the shopkeeper a hug so tight, Not knowing whether it’s wrong or right. It’s 37°C outside, Both mother and son are drained, sweaty palms they cannot hide. As his mother pays the bill, he starts unwrapping the ice cream right there — unable to bear the heat he feels. So the mother wraps him in her arms, And, not wanting to harm the kid’s childness, she says with kindness: “How can ice cream ever last... If you eat it so fast?”
