The Hustler
In the early hours of dawn while the world sleeps, and dream sweet dreams, I walk through the silent lonely streets under the fading star lights , Trying to make a living. The fear of loosing my game as an hustler still crept me out. But I kept on moving from north to south, Not sure of my whereabout. But made it a priority to make mama proud. Though my weary bones pled for rest, I resisted. For my future needed the best, To rise above the problems of life instead. A battle determining my faith, Wasn't meant to shake. If it did, It would have caused me great shame. Kept on striving towards the goal. Even when I was low, I made sure never to let go. Cause I knew the seed would soon be grown. Finally… finally… finally, The hustle has paid off. All the pain, All the struggles, The sleepless nights, The endless fights— Have finally paid off. Now mama can smile from ear to ear, Knowing I have made it out here. The fading stars and the silent streets that was once dark while I walked, Soon became a very bright light, That Shawn bright enough to showcase my struggles and the success after.
