THE HUMANITY OF MY HEART
Dear God, this human heart You gave to me Is such a fragile, tangled, fragile thing. It doubts the very grace that sets it free, And in the dark, forgets how You can sing. My mind, it spins with worries and with fears, It builds up walls when it should bend and kneel. It counts the losses, multiplies the tears, And struggles,Lord, to know that You are real. These hands You made to create and to hold, Can sometimes clench in anger or in pride. My story, waiting for Your touch, is told With chapters where I desperately try to hide. My feet, they stumble on this path I tread, I lose the way,I choose the darker route. I hear Your voice, then listen to instead The fearful whispers of my deepest doubt. This is my offering, my flawed design, The cracks through which my weakness fully shows. So take this limited humanity of mine, And in its brokenness, let Your strength arose. Let my frailties not be hidden from Your sight, But be the place You shine Your perfect light ENNY'S PAGES
