The House and its Echoes
I sit in this house that used to be a home; I peeled back the walls to reveal its empty bones. If you listen closely, you can still hear the tears that fell from my face interwoven with the memories of laughter echoing throughout the rafters. This isn't the story my heart wants to tell, but it is a truth it must speak. Every room, every creaking floorboard, every shadow cast on the wall reminds me of what was and what can never be again. I see phantoms lingering in the corners, whispering of a time when love filled these rooms. Now, it's just me and these echoes, living in a house that is haunted by what it used to be.
